Offsets

I began by scaling Messenger's plans 50% and taking those measurements for the offsets. The offset table for Louise Marion reflects those dimensions to an eighth of an inch.

Deadwood
The keel, skeg, centerboard case, transom, stem and sternpost.

Perpendiculars
Perpendiculars were taken from the offset table as well.

Sail Plans
I generated several sail plans. I finally settled on a sprit rig for simplicity and ease of handling.

Lofting
The next step was lofting. This is the process whereby plans are drawn up full scale. Patterns can be made from the loft plans. I found this to be especially helpful for measuring angles, bevels, and curves.
