I love making pottery. Working with colored stoneware, and inlays of porcelain,
I create one-of-a-kind, sculpted pottery by combining wheel-throwing techniques,
hand-building, and spontaneous gestural mark-making.
My pottery reflects my training as a fine artist, my attraction to printmaking and sculpture, and my interest in the unearthed artifacts from ancient cultures. Concepts found in certain art movements – Dada, American Regionalism and Pop – also inform my work.
Although my pottery is “functional” – the bowl, the jug, the canister – its “form” is distinctively contemporary, organic and personal. Pottery making is my passion.
