In 2011 with the help of Matthew Gaddie, I built my first downdraft reduction kiln; named the Joyce kiln after my mother. Due to increased interest and demand in my pottery, I am building a second larger kiln with double the capacity and a car on tracks for easier access, loading, and unloading. Matthew Gaddie was again the builder. Along with his assistant Roger Crady we built the Elene William kiln during the third week of August. We will finish completion in October when we will fire it for the first time.
I'm naming it the Elene William kiln after my grandmother Elene and my grandfather William each who influenced me in life and art.
